Welcome to the online home of the Rome Marines Veterans Center (RMVC) web site. This site is currently being constructed, and we hope it provides a tool for all veterans that need assistance . We are also busy building our new facility in Rome, NY. The RMVC is a Not-for-Profit Corporation incorporated in New York State in February 2011.

Our primary mission is to serve Veterans and their families in the Rome Community and the surrounding suburbs. We are not affiliated with any other veteran's organizations or veteran's centers. The RMVC is an independent organization created by the dedicated members of the E. L. Smith, Jr. Detachment of the Marine Corps League. As a result we have a close association with the Marine Corps League, but maintain our autonomy as an independent corporation.

The RMVC works with organizations like the VA, The Rome Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, The Toys for Tots Foundation, and the Library of Congress Oral History Project, and many more organizations. We are also chartered by the New York State Department of Education as a repository for Veteran's oral histories, and artifacts related to our local veteran population. We believe preserving the local histories of our veterans, and the Marine Corps are vital to educating future generations of citizens.

As we develop the site we will provide more specific information about our programs and services. We are an all volunteer organization with members having experience that spans numerous fields of expertise - from a myriad of technical fields, to teachers, architects, sociologists, law enforcement and medical professionals. If you would like to donate to the RMVC, or volunteer your services, contact the RMVC at the address listed below.
